Material classification of socks

1. Combed cotton
Combed cotton is a machine called a combing machine that removes short fibers from ordinary fibers, leaving long and neat cotton fibers. Due to the removal of short cotton fibers and other fiber impurities, the cotton yarn spun from combed cotton is more delicate, and the finished product has a smooth and comfortable feel, belonging to the high-end cotton category.
2. Mercerized cotton
Mercerized cotton refers to cotton fibers that have undergone mercerization treatment in a concentrated alkaline solution. This type of cotton fiber has a better glossiness, shininess, and is less prone to wrinkling than ordinary cotton fibers, without any changes in other physical properties. Usually, the material of mercerized cotton can be seen in thin socks in summer.
3. Spandex
Spandex, commonly known as elastic fiber, has high elasticity and strong elasticity. Its stretching length can reach 5-7 times that of the original fiber, and the textile product added with spandex can maintain its original contour. If spandex is included in the composition of socks, it can create elasticity and retraction, making them easier to wear, making them more close to the feet, just like swimming suits, which can tightly wrap around the feet and prevent slipping.
4. Nylon
Nylon is a synthetic fiber with Chinese characteristics, and people are more familiar with its other name, nylon. The scientific name of nylon is polyamide fiber, which is synthesized by Jinzhou Chemical Fiber Factory in China. It was named after Jinzhou, hence it is named nylon. Nylon has similar properties to nylon, being sturdy and wear-resistant, making it the most wear-resistant and sturdy type of synthetic fiber. And it is very light in weight and has good elasticity. Adding nylon to socks can maintain high strength elasticity.
